In my opinion, online reputation repair agencies are not the best choice for you, as there are a number of considerations to make before going down this road. We all know that reputation is not something we want, so it only makes sense to protect it from the consequences of negative publicity. This can sometimes take on a life of its own, leading to so much that could go wrong.
The first thing to do is to know what kind of negative press was being directed at your company. Is it purely negative?
Is there some validity to it? Was it sourced from a credible source? Or is it 100% based on hearsay?
Reputation repair agencies could try to solve all these problems, but if they attempt to do this, they are bound to fail, because everyone’s business is different. However, when you’re dealing with highly sensitive information that will affect your reputation, you don’t want to take any chances.
If you can demonstrate there is no negative press being broadcast against your company, then there is no reason to think the online reputation agency should intervene. In fact, if there is a problem, they should let you know so you can take action to correct it.
